+PROJECT FEED A NEIGHBOR - Plan on helping with this project on Saturday, April 28, 10 am, starting at Mitchell United Methodist, 207 N. Teal Lake, Negaunee.  This is for collecting the bags in neighborhood that were distributed last Saturday. For more information call Linda Sjolund 242-5005.

 +3rd SUNDAY “NOISE OFFERING” IS TODAY  The noisy offering last weekend resulted in $80.16.  This offering goes for Ester, our Compassion International child living with her  family in Northern Tanzania.  The offering goes for her care.  Thank you for the “noise” of your coins, your prayers, and your support.

 +Learn a wise way to manage your  personal finances.   Join the next Financial Peace University (FPU began Sunday, April 8, at 6pm at Eastwood Apostolic Lutheran Church, Negaunee. This is sponsored by the Negaunee Ministerial Association, FPU teaches God's ways of handling money through 9 weeks of video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, giving practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. Material cost is $90 for new participants, but worth the investment!

 +Keryx #49, thanks you   Fellow members of Immanuel:    Thank you for any donation of cookies you provided and for all of your prayers.  We had a wonderful and successful gathering again this year with our team of 25 Christian men, including inmates from the Marquette Branch Prison.      Jim Hayward

 +WOULD YOU PLEASE HELP SET THE TABLE?  The Worship & Music Committee along with the Altar Guild needs help with setting and/or cleaning up Communion on Sunday and Monday. The schedule is flexible & will work for you. Sign up on the sheet found on the table in the hallway & at the front entrance & place it in the offering tray or return it to the office. It’s only a few times a year. You can do it alone or with a partner. You can sign up for 8:30 am/10:30 services (done on Saturday) or the 6 pm service (done after the Sunday services). Can you help?  Your help would be appreciated. Sign up now to help “Set the Table”.

 +WELCA CLUSTER 8 MEETING   Women of the ELCA Spring Cluster 8 (Superior Central, Northern Great Lakes Synod)  meeting is TODAY, April 22, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2:30 PM registration.  The cost is $5.00, and the program will begin at 3 pm. It will be a presentation by Greg Toutant ,  Director of Great Lakes Recovery, a youth recovery program.  This is a local program.  A business meeting will follow the program with a supper served after the meeting.  Please notify Virginia Paulson (475-9641) or Jonelle Collins (475-9177) if you are willing to help.

 +YOU are Invited to Healthy Congregations Workshop   Who? All Immanuel members and council What? This event focuses on teaching healthy behaviors and communication that increases the effectiveness of ministry and improve congregational vitality. Rev. Ramie Bakken, currently serving as ELCA Candidacy and Leadership Manager for Region 5, will present.  When? Monday, April 23, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm   Where?  +Food for the Poor Bulletin Invitation  Please join us May 6 & 7, 2018, to hear The Rev. Richard Hartmann speak at all the services about a ministry providing direct relief to the poor throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.  Food for the Poor is our May Mission Emphasis, and Pastor Hartman will share personal witness about Food for the Poor’s mission to care for the destitute as a means of living out the Gospel mandate to love one another.   Pastor Rick was ordained in 1983 and has studied at Trinity Lutheran Seminary and the University of St. Thomas in Houston. He is a retired ELCA pastor with 30 years in parish ministry serving congregations in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Ohio and Texas where he now lives.  Pastor Rick’s primary social concern is for hungry people everywhere and so relishes the opportunity to be ministering through Food For The Poor and each congregation he visits. Please join in welcoming Pastor Hartman.

 +MARQUETTE CHORAL SOCIETY SPRING CONCERT , “The Night Psalms”, will be held on Saturday, April 28, 7:30 pm and on Sunday, April 29, 3:00 pm, at the NMU Reynolds Recital Hall.  General admission tickets are $10-adults, $6-students, and can be purchased at the Berry Events Center, Forest Roberts Theater, online at, and at the door.  For more information, see the poster on the community board
