+3rd SUNDAY OFFERING WAS LAST SUNDAY  The 3rd Sunday offering goes to Ester amounted to $95.87 last weekend.  Ester is, our Compassion International child living with her family in Northern Tanzania. The offering goes for her care, with any extra going to support a Tanzanian student at Finlandia University in Hancock, MI. Thank you for the “noise” of your coins, your prayers, your support.

+YOUTH-LED SERVICES  On the 2nd Sunday of every month, the 10:30 a.m. service is to be led by the Youth of Immanuel.  YOU can participate!  Want to sing?  Play an instrument?  Act out?  Call Connie Lindblom at 475-6139  if you are at all interested.  This is your time to shine!

Your responsibility would be to carry out lesson plans for a class. Lesson plans and materials will be set in the classroom. If you are interested, there will be a brief orientation from 9:45-10:00 am, next Sunday, October 22, to familiarize you with the schedules & routines. Please text Paulette patron at 361-1562 or call the church office.

 +Commemorate the Lutheran Reformation

 · Oct. 29 for Reformation Sunday/Monday worship that includes Luther hymns and confessional writings.

 · Nov. 4 @ 1:00 pm for Pressing Apple Cider at the Lindblom’s house (109 W. Arch, Negaunee), remembering that Luther when asked what he’d do if he knew the world would end tomorrow responded, “I’d plant an apple tree.” Talk with Dan or Connie to inquire what apples are best to bring (906-475-6139).

 · And still more Reformation remembrances are coming as we approach the 500th anniversary of Lutheran Reformation.

 +Celebrate All Saints’ Sunday

 · On Nov. 5 the 10:30 am service will shift to the Fellowship Hall (8:30 am & 6:00 pm services remain in the sanctuary) where Sunday School will also fully join in Worship @ the Tables. Consider participating in this small group, intergenerational, story-sharing service at the tables, even if it’s just to listen.

 · Nov. 5 Cemetery Service at the Negaunee Cemetery – a traditional Scandinavian observance of memorial in which candles will be placed at the graves of loved ones. We meet at the main gate at 5:00 pm (bring a flashlight!) to place candles at graves, followed by a simple service of remembrance, song, scripture and prayer at 5:30 pm. Candles may be secured in advance from the youth group for a $3 donation. If you can’t be present Nov. 5 but would like a candle placed, we would be happy to place a candle for you near the cemetery’s main entrance.

+6th – 12th grade Youth Trips Preparations are underway to Fortune Lake, November 3-4, Minneapolis, March 15-18, and Houston, end of June/beginning of July of 2018. Contact Stacy McEachern (906-361-9123) for more info and to register.

+COUNTERS / COUNTER CAPTAINS NEEDED  Are you willing to volunteer to count the donations occasionally?  We are in need of counters, in particular counter captains. A training session will be provided,  And, it is not a hard job. Counting takes place on Tuesdays at 9:00 am, usually lasting about 1-1 1/2 hours.  There are 3 persons counting on each Tuesday.  Please call the office at 475-9161 if you can help.

 Thank you!.
